Walk by Faith

It's been awhile since my last post. I've been a little busy, to say the least. God has been moving in mighty and I mean MIGHTY ways. He's taking me on a journey, one that was clearly planned for my life long before I ever saw a glimpse of what this journey might look like. And I'll have to admit, it's really not a journey I've asked for, hoped for, dreamed of or even thought of before... this is what makes this journey one of complete FAITH. (I've even had the words, Walk by Faith, tattooed on my foot.)

There has been a core group of us that initially went on the very first DR Mission trip with Sherry White Ministries back in November of 2010. I don't think many of us realized the difference this trip would make in our lives. But now, February 2012, we have formed a non-profit organization called SendMeMissions, Inc. with a Board of Directors & Officers. I've fought the idea, I've given in to the idea, I've worked long and hard to see it through and with God's unfailing love and strength... today we finally opened our bank account for SMM. Could this really be happening? Could our dreams be so
small and tiny to the plans He has set before us? Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

One thing I've learned along this journey of faith, to prosper according to the world is not the same prosperity to God. For He has shown me day in and day out to be thankful for the things that I have but has given me a heart and passion to see those that are less fortunate be taken care of and provided for. This type of love is completely fulfilling. You will spiritually prosper when you obey his commandments. James 1:27, Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

While my journey has only just begun, the relationships that have formed through His divine power are unbelievable. The joy that He has given me is indescribable. The opportunities that He has placed in my life is ridiculously crazy! He is an awesome God, whom I now call Friend, Father, Abba, Savior, Mine!
